Sachar Katz

 Included among the many teachers and professors of Sachar Katz are such renowned names as Yuri Jankelevich (violin), Yuri Kramarov (viola), Alexander Warlamov, Dmitri Shostakovich (composition), as well as Natan Rachlin and Eugene Mravinski (conducting).

 Before moving to Germany in 1990, Mr. Katz was: principal conductor and artistic leader of the "Old and Modern Music Orchestra", a frequent guest conductor with many orchestras and theatres of the former USSR, and in Moscow, principle conductor of the Concert Orchestra of the TV and Radio Broadcast Companies of the USSR. He was also a faculty member of the Central Special School for Music in the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Sachar Katz has appeared with a multitude of chamber music ensembles both as conductor and as soloist.

 From 1990 until 1995, Sachar Katz conducted "The New Camerata Berlin", and from 1995 until 2001 has been Music Director of the "Berlin classical orchestra". Both as performer and as arranger, Mr. Katz has participated in numerous television and radio broadcast performances, as well as record recordings. He is a frequent jury member of various international competitions, and regularly gives master classes for viola and chamber music.

 The compositions of Sachar Katz include ballet, symphonic and chamber music works in varying orchestrations and ensembles.
